It's A Bit Disturbing When

you see one of your offspring repeatedly hit himself on the head with a roll of paper towels while saying "Ow!"

It goes to a new level when you hear the other one say....

"Let me try!"

I'm Dreaming of a White International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day

So on Feb 23 - also known as International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day - it snowed in Austin. And not a regular Austin snow. For this one you could even see evidence of the snow the next day.

At the daycare, they let the kids play outside for a bit. After all, it's not every day you get to see that much snow in Austin.

When I went to pick up Milo and Joey... we ended up standing in the parking lot for a good 5 mins while I let them throw snowballs at me.

Unfortunately, the battery in my camera was so low that it wouldn't take a pic. But trust me... they had a blast.

Joey-speak

There are some things in childhood language developement that are simply too cute. As a parent, you want to encourage your child to use proper English... but when they say things like this you just have to smile.

For some time now whenever Joey wants some of my soda he'll ask "Daddy, can I have a cup-a sip?"

Well, this weekend he showed us just how much he's growing up. I was eating a sandwich and Joey asked "Daddy, can I have a piece-a bite?"

This Never Happens

I walked into the living room this afternoon to find Joey totally passed out on the floor. THIS NEVER HAPPENS...

Milo and I spent some time watching the Fantastic Four and enjoyed some quiet. Milo must have either gotten bored... or perhaps he just gave us a deeper glimpse into himself.

I saw him laying on the floor beside Joey. Suddenly, Joey sat up and Milo shouted "It's Alive" in a Victor Frankenstein tone...

As Joey climbed up on the couch Milo stated "I woke him up by whispering weird stuff in his ears..."

What did he whisper??? Or do I really want to know....

Hey Look At That Squirrel

"Hey Look At That Squirrel!" was what Milo shouted while looking out the window today. At first I expected to see a glimpse of a furry tail disappear in the distance. I was wrong.. the squirrel was on a tree limb a mere arm's reach from our window.

Milo Manners

The other day Milo did about the most grown-up thing I could have possibly imagined... something far ahead of his age and certainly something I wasn't prepared to do at his age -

When I picked him up from school he had a little friend with him. He said. "Dad, here's someone I'd like for you to meet. His name is Preston."

I still have trouble making proper introductions sometimes.

Milo is already becoming a little gentleman. sniff...
