Where's Joey?

Shaolin Tiger Fist of Fury Dragon Monk Milo

Here's a very proud Milo in his brand new 'Lit'l Dragon' Kung Fu uniform. He has started taking Kung Fu at Stepping Stone and is really enjoying it.. Plus with a little brother like Joey, it helps to study some hand-to-hand combat!

Like Son, Like Father

Saturday morning began with the usual pounding on the door followed by a decisive action to warm up the TV in preparation of watching Ben 10 in our PJ's. (New episodes Saturday mornings at 9AM CDT on Cartoon Network).

The boys and I were laying on the floor watching cartoons when I - like all red-blooded, American dads - felt the need to pass gas.

Upon passing said gas, Joey took cue of the sound and his own experiences with what usually follows its occurrence. He pulled back the waistband from the back of my boxers and asked "Daddy Poo?

keep one eye open...

After months of torment at the hands of another child at school, Milo exacted his revenge, his inner self has now been reveled as a Mastermind.

With the simple words of "You pooped your pants," Milo's nemesis went ballistic, trying to deny the claim. And when I say "ballistic," I'm talking totally insane. He might as well have been foaming at the mouth.

So, watch your little ones, protect your possessions, and know that The Mighty Milo never forgets.

Battle of Wills

Milo refused to go to school last Thursday, dressed in swimming trunks, for Splash Day.

I told him that if he decided to play, that he would have to dress himself.

He did, and apparently refused to take off his socks.

Silly boy looked like an old man!

Happy Day, Daddy/Happy 2nd Birthday, Joey

This weekend we went to Houston, for an Astros v. Yankees game. The Good Boys lasted several innings. I was very proud of them.

This was a great chance for Joey to see his first game, and a lovely way to celebrate the kindness, understanding, and downright patience that Mark has with the kids.

Thank you, Mark, for being a kick-ass dad.

Happy 2nd birthday, Joey. I have to admit, you're still acting the same!

Don't Love Me!

Yesterday, while driving home from school, the following conversation occurred:

Joey: Mino, Mino, Mino, Mino

Milo: Stop saying my name!

Joey: Mino, Mino, Mino

Milo: STOP!

Mommy: Milo, Joey's just saying how much he loves you.

(Milo turns to Joey): I DON'T WANT YOU TO LOVE ME!!!

Joey: (softly) Mino, Mino-

Local Toddler Shows Fear, Terror

Today was Joey's first "official" Splash Day at school.

Imagine my surprise to walk past his classroom (directly facing outside where all the fun is) to see him and another friend watching the water festivities from the inside.

What? Where is the fearless toddler that makes other quake in their toddling?

It turns out that even spraying Joey with a squirt bottle makes him cower and cry.

And I really had hopes for swimming this summer. Damn.

Notable weekend

The kids had their funny set on full blast this weekend.

I'm going to try to condense everything into a Super Post.

#1. Joey pulled of the dirt canister and turned on the vacuum... then tried to look innocent as if the vacuum became possessed and turned itself on and jettisoned it's own canister. (pic included)

#2. Milo hurt his thumb. (It got pinched in the frame of our bathroom door.) We fixed him up and the next morning I grabbed his hand as he walked by to see how it was healing and he started screaming "Ow! Ow! Ow!"... Then, realizing that I had grabbed his uninjured hand and NOT the hurt one... he reached out and said.. "Oh wait, it's this one!"

#3. Well, Milo had another poo accident this weekend. We went into the bathroom to clean up and I asked him where poo was supposed to go and he said "In the potty." So I handed him his underpants with a well-formed ball of poo inside and said "Ok, can you put this poo in the potty?" As he reached for it, the ball of poo fell out... bounced off my knee... and rolled about 3 feet across the bathroom floor. We stood and looked at each other... then at the poo on the floor... and again at each other and that interaction set off a 5 minute laugh-a-thon.

Milo said "That was funny!"
