BFF

Today while we were driving around, Milo said "Joey is my friend."

I hope they are and stay that way. Friendship is awesome.

Pizza?

Milo has always enjoyed pizza. From the time he was 2 he's pretty much assumed that any knock on our door at dinner time usually meant the person on the other side of the door was holding an extra large extra cheese and onion pie. He's also been known to knock on the door himself from the inside and say "Pizza?"

Again, no doubt that he is our child from that...

Well, tonight we learned some sad news. Our friend Cindy, a manager at CiCi's Pizza is leaving us. The good news is her husband got a wonderful promotion that has given her an opportunity to stay at home and devote more time to her family in a new city.

Cindy loved seeing the boys whenever we came in. We were regular customers to the point that by the time we walked through the doorway she had a veggie pizza in the and had given orders to have a high chair for Joey delivered to our favorite table. And she always made a point to stop by and ask how we all were doing. It's tough to beat that kind of sincere service these days... especially considering it only cost $15 to take the family out for an evening.

Cindy became like a surrogate aunt for they boys during the time we spent living off McNeil. Considering how far we are away from most of our family, that's something pretty special.

musing on a thursday night

it is easy to forget that kids soak up your words even when you're not paying attention, or if you think they aren't paying attention. case in point- we listened to "helter skelter" by motley crew this morning. when i changed back to a local radio station, a little voice in the back seat demanded "motley clue!"

[no title needed]

How quickly they learn

Yes, Milo can use a monster voice and say "Redrum" while making the finger talk.

It's so cool and creepy. Love it.

Let's take requests from our listeners.

As we are trying to impart a variety of music upon our children, here is a recent conversation between myself and our eldest, Milo.

Scene: Driving home from daycare, in the car.

Milo: I want Cure!
Mom: I don't have the Cure here, Daddy has it at home.
Milo: LIPS! (Rocky Horror Picture Show)
Mom: I don't have Lips, how about R.E.M.? Can you say "REM?"
Milo: NO REM!!! I WANT THE CURE!!!

Well, that about says it all. We are sticking to moody music with performers wearing extensive amounts of make-up.

Good boys inspire new in-store signage

In a recent trip to Goodwill, we noticed some new signs on the front door. The signs are your basic "Parents, please keep an eye on your damn kids" signs in both English and Spanish.

Yes, this was the same location from this past June where Milo pulled the fire alarm.

Now if we could only get him to listen...
